The Margaret River Macs experience has been savoured on more than 200 occasions since the heavenly down south haven opened for business in 2005.
Here's what our guests have said about their stays ... time out, holiday, birthday celebration, wedding night, honeymoon, and wedding anniversary.

Thanks for the very comfortable stay in this nostalgic home, with it’s beautiful garden. We have had four truly great nights in front of the fire place with delicious wine, telling stories. What is more beautiful at the end of the world… |

We are visiting WA for the first time. We are spending a week in Margaret River, on our honeymoon. It has been the most relaxing, welcoming, comforting experience staying here at Margaret River Macs. The large, comfortable beds made for the best nights sleep I have had in years. We have cherished every minute of our time spent here and would love to make it an annual destination. |

Visiting Australia from England. This is our first time in Margaret River. We have enjoyed the area taking in the wineries etc. On the “Bush Tucker” tour, forest walks, stunning coastal scenery and Kangaroo spotting too! The house is very homely, well equipped and is a great place to stay. The log fires in the evening made the stay very cosy. We would certainly recommend to others that they stay here. We would also recommend Tassell Park Wines, their wines definitely had the edge. I am sure given the opportunity we will all be back |

Words are inadequate to describe the warmth of the hospitality awaiting us at Margaret River Macs. From the moment we turned the key upon our arrival, till the moment we reluctantly had to leave, we felt very comfortable and at home. We have stayed at a variety of excellent accommodations throughout the world, but the provision here of all the little extras addressing our every need made us feel special. We found it difficult to drag ourselves away from relaxing in the garden to visit the lovely surrounding area. Margaret River Macs is so well located. Alas, all good things must come to an end. |

We loved this place. It has such a “haunting” charm. Just perfect for a Halloween party. Sorry for scaring the S$%# out of the neighbourhood kids! The manager of “Must” restaurant now has an aversion to shaking hands with the patrons. |

Happy Halloween! With a “whacko” friend, Maragret River Macs has moved into sharing the “trans ocean” Halloween spirit. The house is fabulous and I am sure Gran & Gramps would be so proud of what you have done with it. Not sure why it took us so long to finally visit. It clearly feels like a home away from home. Your personal touch makes it something special. |

You thought of everything; from a well-equipped kitchen, CD player, computer. If the four of us could ask for anything, perhaps it may be an additional washroom. Nonetheless, we are overwhelmed.Certainly a place to recommend to friends, and if the opportunity were to arise, to return. |

A lovely place to come and stay. We particularly enjoyed consuming our Margaret River wine in front of a warming fire. The electric blankets and comfortable beds made this a positively relaxing place to stay. We would recommend the 'Bushtuckers' wine tour - fun, informative, with a range of wineries. Emily and Mark are definitely planning to return later in the year. |

We love this place. For me it brings back memories of holidays @ Margaret river as a child. This house has so much charm & character, a testament to its owners. For Fleur it's a beautiful, tranquil getaway ... yes darling we will buy a house here one day!!! Lazy evening by the fire were the order of the day this trip. Cold & raining outside, warm & inviting inside. We also had a wonderful meal @ Winos - the steak was amazing! Next time we'll visit the Arc of Iris again - a must for anyone to try for dinner if this is your first time here (top of the main street on the left when travelling up Bussell Hwy). Thanks for the memories Gran & Gramps (we had a port in your honour!) |

WOW!!! What a magical place. My husband and I spent 3 amazing nights at Margaret River Macs and felt very privileged to be there. The house is immaculate and has so many little extras...too many to list in this short space. From the moment we turned the key in the front door, we felt totally relaxed. Taking a well deserved break from our two young children, this was a treat...especially the king size bed with crisp white linen. We spent most nights curled up in front of the log fire listening to Ella Fitzgerald and then watching a dvd! A short stroll down to the back gate and we were in the main street sipping coffee at the Dome... We will definitely be back as soon as we can. We did not want to leave. Thanks to the owners for a wonderful tranquil escape. |

What a wonderful way to spend a long weekend. As soon as we walked in the house it felt like our home. Every need was satisfied on this trip and at the house. The wineries and restaurant were good but the thoroughly enjoyed our cooked breakfasts here at the house in the morning. Because of this stay we will be upgrading our mattress as well. This is definitely a better way to travel than hotels and the rest. I’m a little hesitant to tell everyone how great it is because they might book it when I want to come. Well done to everyone involved! |

What an enjoyable, lovely & homely place to come to. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We didn’t even realise how close it was to the township when we got here. The bed was ultra comfy, the shower so luxurious and the little gifts so inviting! We have had such a short stay but highly recommend The Larder for take away (better than home cooking) after our 8 hr travel time to MR. We have seen the stunning beach/huge surf! And collected some sea shells. We wandered on to Mammoth Cave and a few wineries, breweries, lavender place, coffee & liquor places and are on our way to Busselton today! Jetty here we come! The beef at MUST Restaurant – is a must if you’re a meat lover! Just behind the hour on Bussell Hwy. We shared a Rib Eye Fillet last night and Grant couldn’t stop raving about the meats tenderness!Well thanks again for a great memory of Margaret River – we’ll definitely be referring friends & relatives! Thanks too for the info before we booked. |

What can we say but “Thankyou” – great break for Geoff and I first one longer than 3 days in more than 20 years. We’ll make sure it’s not that long again. You have done a great job on the house. Great way to unwind and wander around the garden with hose in one hand and wine in the other! Left the boys for their cat nap in the P.M. and we girls went on the daily walk in and out of the main street stores. – MAN HAS THAT ALL CHANGED (must be getting old!). Keep up the good work will be back when we can sort dates |

We have stayed at hotels & serviced apartments, but they can't provide all those little things! The house has everything & more & it has been wonderful having all the comforts of home when we are 10,000 mile away from it! We are getting to the end of a three month stay in Australia & I really feel that we have been part of Margaret River for a week. Loved the shower; the internet; the garden chairs. Everything has been great! We also fell in love with the hummus dip from 'The Larder'! We will be back. Thanks for everything, including the extra night! |

This is a wonderful house! The décor is so original & something I would love to copy in my own! We felt at home from the moment we opened the front door, modern amenities with flashes from the past – it has brought back several memories of my Nan’s house when I was little. Our five night get away was wonderful and the next time we manage to return you will be the first we look to for accommodation! Thank you! |

We have had a beautiful week here, but it has gone so quickly…we are still discovering more things to do on our last day! From the moment we arrived we felt ‘at home’. It was just like coming back to Gran & Gramps place, but with modernisations and special holiday comforts. This little piece of Margaret River will hold a special place in our hearts and we hope to come back often. Hayley just loved the window seat in the kitchen, sinking into the cushions, and taking her parents for tours of the garden; delighting in the flags, climbing on the benches/seats under the trees and tapping on the music pole. And then there were always the macadamia nuts to collect! A 3 year old’s heaven! Byron & Tavis loved sharing a bedroom with their sister – but next time they’ll be older than 6 months and may not be so happy to be in porta cots rather than luxuriating in a king-size bed! Thanks for providing everything we could have needed from a serene environment to a picnic rug. |

I’m in apricot heaven!! After hearing stories for years about Grandmother McKenzie’s wonderful jams + bountiful tree, I experienced it. We climbed the tree, collected every day, raked the fallen, buried them, then cooked our gathering. We made jam (first time ever for me) and had stewed apricots for breakfast + for dinner with ice-cream. You have done a beautiful job on your grandparents home. Congratulations!! |

We have stayed in a few places on our way from Perth to Margaret River but this place far outdoes the rest. Felt at home and relaxed from the moment we walked in and all thoughts of homesickness went away. It’s nice to have everything at your fingertips and everything has been well thought out and catered for. A beautiful place and tribute to the owners, it was an honour to be a guest here. Wish we had longer but hopefully there will be a next time. |

Thank you for making my recent stay in Margaret River such a memorable, exiting & wonderful experience. It allowed me to really relax with good foods, good friends and beautiful; warm (sometimes overcast) weather. The house is beautifully laid out and everything we could possibly need was available, or right on our doorstep. There is no doubt, that because of its unique charm, that my friends and I will be returning in the not too distant future. I can't wait to make my way here again soon. We never met our hosts. They are benevolent ghosts. Unobtrusive and leaving little treats in every nook and cranny. We sang and drank wine and then curled up in the sheets and donnas of the giant beds. During the day we sat under the trees in the backyard doing crosswords. We cooked great meals had great conversations and melted into the most comfortable surroundings. |

I was here in April and have returned with my friends, Willow and Pheng. You have provided for us just what we needed - a quiet, comfortable and relaxing environment where 3 old friends could catch up relax and enjoy one another’s company. It's so much more personal and friendly than a five star hotel. We have been very blessed to be here. It would greatly sadden me if you should decide to chop it up to units. I hope that this snap shot of the Australian way of life will be kept sacred. In his love. |

We are not frequent travellers but when we do we stay in hotels which are certainly not houses. You have not only provided a house but a beautiful home away from home. We were in awe when we first stepped into the house. As we explored the surroundings we were captivated by the trees and plants, the shrubs and the many varieties and colourful flowers that were strategically planted. The provisions and little necessities made available were more than expected. The short stay in the house has certainly created memorable moments in our lives. Unwilling to leave. We would want to be back. Thankyou. |
