Getting There
By Car
Margaret River is about 3 hours south of Perth (300 km) by car. Access is easiest via the major national route known as Highway 1, which is also known as The Coast Road. The highway south is generally a divided two-lane road, but there is one section that remains a single-lane two-way road just south of Mandurah and here drivers need to take care. The highway heads south from Fremantle, towards the town of Rockingham, and the veers south toward Mandurah, onto Bunbury, and by-passes Busselton on the way to Margaret River. The route is well sign posted.
The other route is Highway 20, The South Western Highway or inland route. This heads south from Armadale. It passes through some interesting old rural towns such as Pinjarra, Harvey and Brunswick and meets with The Coast Road in Bunbury.

South West Coach Lines conducts a daily service between Perth and Margaret River (about 5 hour ride).

TransWA also runs the "Australind" train service between Perth and Bunbury daily (about 2.5 hour ride), that then connects with the bus service to Margaret River.
